M.S. Plan I
Program Description
A rigorous, expected 2-year program combining core coursework in Microbiology with original, hands-on research. Students follow many of the same core curriculum pathways as PhD students. (Core Courses | Microbiology Graduate Group).
Thesis Research
The MS program in MGG is a Master Plan I (Thesis) program. Completion requires a written research thesis under the direct guidance of an MGG faculty member. The thesis must demonstrate dedicated research experience and contribute new knowledge to the field of microbiology.
Identifying a Mentor (Admission Requirement)
It is the applicant's sole responsibility to identify and secure a Major Professor willing to mentor them prior to formal admission into the program.
Financial Information
There is no guarantee of financial support for MS students.
